Welcome to Keyzer’s Fruit Farm!
In the mid-eighties, Fred Hall, former pork producer, planted this orchard with apples, pears, cherries, plums, raspberries and strawberries. He soon became famous for his cheerful and engaging personality and the quality of his fruit.
In later years, he had to cut back production on account of his age and health. Eventually, he abandoned the strawberries, and later, sold the farm – at which point the Keyzers acquired the property. At the request of the customers, we decided to maintain the existing production, and even introduce new fruit varieties.
Offerings From The Farm
June is strawberry season; come July, there are sweet cherries, raspberries and yellow plums. August brings pie-cherries, early apples and pears, followed by winter apples, pears and blue plums in September through October. We are planting other types of fruit, including peaches, apricots, new apple varieties, blueberries, honey berries, blackberries, gooseberries, currants and rhubarb. We also grow garlic and pumpkins.
Some fruit freezes well, and we store frozen pie-cherries, strawberries and raspberries, as well as apple juice and delicious apple butter. Our goal is to grow what our customers want, at the highest quality possible.
Although we sell our products directly at the farm, you can also find us at the local farmer’s market in Paisley – and our apples are available in grocery stores in Walkerton, Hanover and Wingham. Apples and pears are stored over a good part of winter.
