Regulation may appear within 12 months if OSHA is successful in overcoming lawsuits associated with promulgation of its generic standard for carcinogens. Arsenic, Lead, and Beryllium OSHA standards for arsenic and lead already have been promulgated, and most of the industry-generated opposition to portions of the regulations has been thrashed out in the courts and made final.
